Marcus Christensen is the founding principal of Thornbury Capital Partners. Most recently before starting Thornbury, Marcus established and led the exclusive Southeast multi-housing team at a leading international investment sales firm, providing investment advisory, transaction services and research to investors domestically and internationally.
Marcus has been involved in over $1B of transactions throughout his career working with institutional and private investors, REITs, hedge funds, lenders, national and local banks, special servicers on REO and note sales, insurance companies and commercial equity and debt restructuring firms. He has successfully developed and implemented comprehensive real estate strategies that support and are in alignment with the clients’ overall business strategy across a variety of asset classes and services, including retail, multi-family, student housing, land, affordable housing, mixed-use, residential and development.
Throughout his career, Marcus has developed a reputation among his peers and clients for being a great conceptual thinker, thought leader and a tactful negotiator. Prior to real estate, Marcus worked in the Financial Services industry in Manhattan doing institutional equity sales & trading and investment banking.
Marcus was born and raised in Oslo, Norway and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Finance degree in 2007. He lives in Dallas with his wife Jace and their three kids, and still manages to play scratch golf.
